What is the Target Heart Rate Zone (THZ)?
The THZ is a range of numbers. For example: 145-185. When doing aerobic exercise, like walking, you want your pulse to be somewhere within your THZ. If it is under the lower number, then the exercise is too easy, and needs to be made more intense. If your pulse is higher than the higher number, then the exercise is too intense, and needs to be easier.
Your THZ could be different than someone else’s. We calculated your THZ in class, but if you want to do it yourself, download the following spreadsheet and enter the information it asks for.
